Natural Gas Upgrade Will Force Temporary Closure of Alley in Downtown Kalispell from July 23 to August 6, 2018Kalispell, Mont. – July 12, 2018 – NorthWestern Energy crews will be conducting upgrade work on a main natural gas line in downtown Kalispell, starting on Monday, July 23, 2018.The work, which is tied to the Fresh Life Church expansion project, will result in the closure of the alley to through traffic between South Main Street and First Avenue East, between First and Second Streets East.The project will require the removal of the concrete surface in the alley to perform work on the gas infrastructure and the subsequent replacement of the concrete, scheduled to begin on July 26. No traffic will be allowed on the new concrete until it is property cured. NorthWestern Energy anticipates the full opening of the alley on August 6, 2018.NorthWestern Energy apologizes for the inconvenience this needed upgrade work may cause to area businesses and residents.Questions about the project can be directed to Adam Frawley, NorthWestern’s Operations Planning Supervisor in Kalispell.
