In light of the recommendation from the City-County Health Department to implement service delivery measures to transition away from walk-in and face-to-face services, the City of Kalispell will be limiting public access to City Hall at 201 First Avenue East, beginning Thursday, March 19, 2020 until further notice. Only essential meetings will be conducted at City Hall, with most meetings using conference call or other online meeting services. It is important to highlight that city services remain fully staffed and operational during this time, including field activities and inspections performed by Parks and Recreation, Public Works, and the Building Department. It is important, however, to modify the manner of service delivery, if necessary, to protect the health and safety of staff and the community. Any city employees may be contacted through the phone numbers listed on the website by department or via email.

The Planning Department provides professional planning assistance to the city and serves the public interest by providing a forum for open dialogue, identification of issues and goals, creative problem solving, plan development, and implementation.

We work to educate, coordinate and facilitate strategies that protect and maintain property values, public investment, built and natural environment, and the quality of life.
